Peter Domagala DDS

Dr. Peter Domagala completed his undergraduate work at Loyola University in Chicago, and from there attended the University of Illinois for both his D.D.S. and postdoctoral certificate in Periodontics. While attending dental school, he received the award from the auxiliary of the Chicago Dental Society, an award that is given to the student who has excelled in both the academic and clinical disciplines. He was elected as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society, and later worked as an assistant clinical professor at the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois.

Today, Dr. Domagala maintains a full-time private practice, limited to periodontics and implant dentistry in Gurnee, Illinois. He has lectured to dental students, dental hygienists, and international dentists both locally as well as at the national level on many topics of periodontics, implant dentistry and oral medicine. He has also published an article on periodontal regeneration.

Aside from maintaining a private practice, Dr. Domagala is very active in organized dentistry. He has served as the President of the Lake County Dental Society and treasurer for the Waukegan Dental Study Group. He is on the Access to Care Committee for the Chicago Dental Society, an Illinois State Dental Society Delegate and a former newsletter editor for the North Suburban Branch. He regularly attends professional continuing education courses and stays current with the latest research studies and technologies.

Dr. Domagala is married with 3 children, who occupy almost all of his free time.  When he is not spending time with his wife and children, he enjoys golfing, computers, and reading novels.


Dr. Nikisha Jodhan

Dr. Nikisha Jodhan began her career at Drake University in Des Moines, IA, where she earned a B.Sc. in Biology and a B.A. in Chemistry. Dr Jodhan then went on to obtain her DDS degree from the New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD), where she was awarded a Dean’s merit scholarship. Upon her graduation, she completed a one year General Practice Residency, receiving additional training in several disciplines, including oral surgery, sedation dentistry, prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistry.

She received her Certificate in Periodontology from NYUCD and promptly achieved diplomate status from the American Board of Periodontology. Soon after, she became a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Post Graduate Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, at NYU. Dr. Jodhan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Midwest and Northeast Societies of Periodontists. Dr. Jodhan was born and raised in Trinidad, West Indies. She has practiced on the East Coast for several years and has now chosen the Chicago Suburbs to raise her family. She resides in Evanston with her husband and son. Dr. Jodhan's hobbies include scuba diving, traveling, reading and walking. She enjoys meeting people of different cultures and backgrounds.

The entire staff shares Dr. Domagala's strong commitment to patient care. We have been trained as professionals, and take pride in our professional capability. 

Minerva, Office Manager - I have been in the dental field since 1996. It is very rewarding to me to be part of a team committed to the highest level of professionalism and to deliver the best dental care possible to our patients. Through the excellent ongoing lessons Dr. Domagala provides I have the ability to further educate our patients on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth and in the placement and maintenance of dental implants so they may obtain the most optimal results. When I'm not at work I like to bike ride or play soccer with my husband , daughter, and two sons. I also enjoy time with a good book.

Mirasol, Business Assistant - The dental field has been part of my career since 1988. After college I continued in the dental field working in the marketing and advertising aspect of it. What I enjoy about my position here is that it brings me in touch with many interesting people. I am proud to work for Dr. Domagala and to be part of such a wonderful, dedicated staff of professionals. During my time off I enjoy spending quality time with my family.

Magda, Treatment Assistant – I have been with Dr. Domagala’s practice since 2006. As one of Dr. Domagala’s treatment assistant, I like the challenges that he gives me. I find periodontal disease and dental implants very interesting. I truly enjoy working at Institute of Dental Implants and Periodontics and I look forward to going to work every morning. In my free time I like spending time with my husband, family and friends.

Amy, Dental Hygienist – I have worked in the dental field since 1984. I first worked for Dr. Domagala from 2000 – 2001 as a treatment assistant. I then left his practice to return to college and completed the dental hygiene program at Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2004. After completing the program, I began working for Dr. Domagala as his dental hygienist. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two sons.

Ledena, Business Assistant – I am new to the dental field and have been working at Institute of Dental Implants since November 2010. The knowledge that is attainable here is exciting, while the experience with Dr. Domagala and the staff has been extremely rewarding. On my free time I like to camp, fish and visit northern Wisconsin with my boyfriend. I also enjoy reading and have recently taken up the game of golf.

Bridget, Business Assistant – I’m the newest member of the staff, but not new to dentistry. My career began in 1978 as a clinical assistant. Through the years, I’ve been exposed to a wide variety of treatment procedures and I am very excited about dental implants. My dental knowledge has helped me serve our patients by answering questions about their treatment, reassuring them on the choice they’ve made to invest in their dental and overall health. My husband and I have three grown children and we enjoy cooking, music, arts and the outdoors together.

Pat, Treatment Assistant – I began my career in 1966 and have seen many great changes take place in dentistry. I get great satisfaction being able to educate patients and assist them through their procedures. I have worked as a dental assistant in Colorado for 8 years before relocating back to Illinois. I have had the opportunity to work with some very respectable dentists and have learned a lot from them. I am proud to be a part of this team! On my days off, I like to spend time with my three grandchildren, my extended family and friends. My interests also include reading, bowling, golfing and Ballina.

Jonathan, Treatment Assistant – I have been in dentistry since the year 2001 and joined the Institute of Dental Implants in August 2011. I like working as a treatment assistant because it is rewarding and I enjoy the patient interaction. I am bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. I have a 9 year old son and an 8 year old stepson, who take up much of my time. I enjoy softball, golfing, bowling, stained glass and writing.

Heather, Treatment Assistant - I joined the team at the Institute of Dental Implants and Periodontics in 2011, after relocating to the area from the Alabama Gulf Coast. I am a DANB certified Dental Assistant and Licensed Dental Hygienist. I began my career in the dental field in 1989, as a Dental Assistant. I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and graduated from the Alabama Dental Hygiene Program in 1996. My experience includes general dentistry and periodontics. I am committed to providing the best possible dental care in a relaxed and comfortable environment. I am proud to have the privilege of working with a team that shares my commitment to excellence!
When I am not at work, I participate in community activities including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other volunteer services. My hobbies include heirloom sewing, crafts, and camping.
